I’ve been looking for creative outlets for the major part of my life without ever actively pursuing any specific one long-term. I was always waiting for “that one thing” to hit me with the precision and clarity of a lightning strike; to instantly give meaning and purpose to my life. That one thing for which I could happily abandon all others and not be riddled and tormented with indecision, fear of missing out, and the anxiety of not knowing if my pursuits would ever come to any fruition.

Only in the last couple of years have I learned and become able to leave this agony behind and grow content with exploring new areas that don’t need to turn out becoming and staying the prime motivator driving all of my efforts and endeavors. I’ve worked a lot against negative and limiting beliefs and identifying and changing narrative structures that kept me hostage for most of my life.

So, one of the major themes of this blog will be the exploration of change itself; of what it takes to see and comprehend one’s situation and become a conscious and active part in steering one’s life; how to grasp new ideas and concepts that are quite literally unthinkable at first; how to learn and do things that are impossible to do; and how to get through to the other side of the unknown to shift perspectives, gain knowledge, and how or where these transformative experiences might be found.

The blog will deal with psychology, cognitive biases and inhibiting beliefs; empathy and communication; mental and emotional health and self-care; with science, art, and creativity; in a way that explores my own trajectories and interests along these lines. It is meant as a way to keep track of my own insights and developments as well as to offer them to anyone to whom they might seem beneficial. As I have come a long way to achieve a somewhat stable truce between the many conflicting parts of what I always experienced as a fragmented life, I see this blog as a fruitful possibility, as fertile ground, to reconcile, to bring together, to harmonize, and to spark new ideas and areas to explore, to grow out of my comfort zone and build something that is greater than the sum total of its parts.

I invite you to join me in this.
